How You Can Help
Volunteers lead Equity Action through fund-raising, review of grant applications and other community outreach. We invite you to become involved in any of these ways:

• Giving: The Rhode Island Foundation has committed to match every dollar you donate to Equity Action’s permanent endowment—up to a total of $500,000. You can help raise $1,000,000 to insure the future of vital LGBTQ programming, education and civic rights. Not only can you double your giving impact through this match, but your donation grows in perpetuity, generating continued funding for the LGBTQ community beyond your lifetime.
• Committee Work: Three committees: Grant Making, Fund Development, and Education and Outreach, are comprised of Council members and volunteers who assist Equity Action in making decisions and accomplishing its goals.
• Widening Circles: Help us spread the word about Equity Action by hosting an informational gathering in your home or business. We will provide literature and a speaker and ask guests to add their name to our mailing list. This is a fun way to socialize with friends and colleagues while raising awareness about this important fund.
• Apply for a Grant: Let organizations you’re involved with know about Equity Action and its mission. By supporting a wide range or programs and initiatives, Equity Action can have a greater effect on social change.
